Slow growers vs fast growers indoors

Which plants surprised you with their growth speed inside the home? Share both ends of the spectrum.

I’ve had great experiences with both slow and fast growers indoors. For fast growers, pothos really stands out; they can grow several feet in just a few months under the right conditions, plus they’re forgiving if you forget to water them occasionally. On the slow side, I’ve found that snake plants take their time to establish but are worth the wait for their striking leaves and air-purifying qualities. Just be patient with the slow ones and give them a good light spot!

I totally agree with you about pothos being a fast grower; they really thrive with just a bit of light and humidity. On the slow-growing side, I’d add that ZZ plants are another great example. They can take a while to put out new growth, but their glossy leaves and resilience to neglect make them a fantastic choice for low-light areas. Just make sure not to overwater them, as they prefer to dry out between waterings!
