Your biggest plant health success story

Tell us about a time you rescued a plant from pests or disease and brought it back to thriving health.

I had a spider plant that was infested with spider mites, and it was looking pretty sad. I took it outside for some fresh air and gently washed the leaves with a mixture of water and a few drops of dish soap to remove the pests. After that, I introduced a neem oil spray weekly for a couple of weeks to keep any remaining mites at bay. I also ensured it was getting enough indirect sunlight and adjusted the watering schedule to avoid stress. Within a month, the plant perked up, new growth appeared, and it was thriving again!

That’s a fantastic recovery story, Sophia! I’ve had similar success with a rubber plant that was suffering from root rot due to overwatering. I carefully removed it from the pot, trimmed away the mushy roots, and let it dry out for a day. Then I repotted it in fresh, well-draining soil and made sure the pot had drainage holes. I also cut back on watering, allowing the top inch of soil to dry out before giving it a drink. Within a few weeks, it started showing new leaves and has been thriving ever since!
